Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect when giving rewards on student learning motivation. The research method used was experimental with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects were 25 students from class 10.D MA Patra Mandiri Palembang, 17 male students and 8 female students. Sampling using purposive sampling technique (based on certain criteria), namely 10th grade students. Data collection methods were questionnaire (using Likert scale), documentation, and observation. Data analysis used normality test and Wilcoxon signed test. The results of descriptive statistical analysis found that in the normality test the resulting data were normal because the significance value was <0.005. While in the Wilcoxon Mean Rank test or the average increase of 13.00 and Sum Of Ranks of 325.00. There are 25 positive data (25 students experienced an increase in motivation). Then the hypothesis test was accepted because 0.000 <0.05 because it showed the effect that student learning motivation increased after giving rewards.
